Natalie Sherborn specialises in predominantly criminal defence work across a broad spectrum, with a particular interest in cases involving allegations of serious violence and public disorder, drug trafficking, dishonesty and money laundering offences, sexual offences and allegations of child cruelty.
Natalie’s considerable experience of drug-related offences ranges from large-scale importation of Class A drugs to simple possession, regularly acting as both Junior Counsel and instructed alone. She has recently appeared in a lengthy trial of a multi-handed conspiracy to cultivate cannabis.
Natalie is also regularly instructed as Junior Counsel in a wide range of cases involving financial crime including Fraud, Money Laundering and Confiscation proceedings.
Natalie has a particular skill in dealing with young defendants and those suffering with mental health difficulties and is regularly instructed as counsel in serious complex cases of a particularly sensitive nature.
Natalie was recently instructed as Junior Counsel in a high profile multi-handed manslaughter trial involving defendants aged between 10 and 13 years old. The convictions were subsequently quashed following appeal.
Recent highlights include successful Court of Appeal appearances. Natalie appeared in the reported case of R v Leroy Jolie [2004] 1 Cr. App. R. 3 that removed the distinction between defences available in bladed-article cases and those for offensive weapons.
Natalie has experience in regulatory law including copyright, trademarks and prison law, appearing for both adult and youth offenders at disciplinary hearings.
